Warrenville, Illinois Aug 2, 2023 (Issuewire.com) – Kisat Diabetes Organization is staging its Annual 5K walk at the St. James farm Pavilion, in Warrenville on Sunday August 6th 2023. The event starts 8.00 am sharp with free screening for diabetes followed by 5k walk, fun educational games, smoothie bike, slide show, diabetes quiz and a healthy Lunch. The event concludes at noon.
Registration is required for the walk. Each participant will be given a tote bag with water bottle and a healthy snack.

“Losing a loved one from diabetes is very traumatic”, says Dr. Chalisa, the founder of Kisat Diabetes Organization. Being a Clinical Endocrinologist, I’ve seen the challenges a patient with diabetes has to face over their lifetime. Watching my own father die from complications of diabetes completely changed my outlook on life and ignited my passion to help people with diabetes. This led to the foundation of Kisat Diabetes organization.
Kisat Diabetes Organization was founded in 2017 with the mission of creating awareness & providing resources and education about diabetes to those in need. In addition to an annual 5k walk, our organization hosts several events throughout the year conducting free diabetes screening, educational events for individuals, communities, senior centers and also works in collaboration with other organizations.

According to Dr. Nuzhat Chalisa, diabetes does not have to be a death sentence.
