Canadian Lower Limb & Foot Health Professionals Invest In Outreach

WINNIPEG, Manitoba: The Pedorthic Association of Canada (PAC), a national non-profit organization for Canadian Certified Pedorthists, is starting the new year with a push to reach new audiences and educate the public about the field of Pedorthics. By simultaneously updating older marketing materials and creating new ones, PAC aims to engage Canadians who could benefit from Pedorthic services as well as those with an interest in entering the Pedorthic profession.

Canadian Certified Pedorthists are foot and lower limb health professionals who have met strict standards of practice to become members of the Pedorthic Association of Canada. They’re highly trained in the assessment of lower limb anatomy and biomechanics and work with patients to design, fit, and modify custom-made foot orthotics and orthopaedic footwear. Broadly speaking, Canadian Certified Pedorthists assist patients dealing with various types of foot pain, lower limb pain (ankle, knee, and leg), back pain, skin conditions, Arthritis, Diabetes, sports injuries, and more.

For those who may be unfamiliar with Pedorthics, it’s a growing healthcare field focused on helping people to achieve active lifestyle goals without compromising their foot or lower limb health. One of PAC’s aims with its new marketing campaign is to increase awareness of the services Canadian Certified Pedorthists provide. The organization is revamping a series of brochures as well as creating a number of short videos that will focus on educating Canadians about the field of Pedorthics and some common foot conditions.

“We’re updating the look and feel of our promotional materials as well as including information about new Pedorthic technologies,” explains Kelly Robb, C. Ped (C), current president of the Pedorthic Association of Canada. “We want to reach Canadians who can benefit from our services, as well as encourage young people to consider Pedorthics as a rewarding career option.”

Titles of some of the new marketing materials include “What Is A Canadian Certified Pedorthist?”, “A Career in Pedorthics”, and “Meet Your Local Canadian Certified Pedorthist”.
